Great studies as usual Thomas. So interesting to see them juxtaposed to the photos. I'm always amazed at how inadequately photos capture the scope of what the human eyes see. Plein air painting really makes one aware of this. I still take reference photos if I plan on doing a studio painting just in case I need certain details not included in the study. But I constantly have to "out-think" the flatness of the image and mentally move things around.
