I guess this proves that time "flies" when you're having fun! But hey - that was a brave attempt nonetheless. Had a similar experience a few months ago, but instead of attacking the painting, the black flies attacked me, after I took the mosquito net off to pack up. Wished they'd stuck to the painting instead - would've been a lot less painful. Oh the joys of plein air.
